A LETTER TO DEATH

Image
To Death, I am not scared of you death. I will fight you 'till my dying breath. I will beat you for a while yet. And will gladly greet you at my happy sunset. I do not fear you death. For even when I have so very little life left. I will still not greet you for a while yet. And will not sadly meet you at my happy sunset. I am not scared for the end. And fear not that final tide, of resting where, you death, become my final friend. I will again greet you happy ever after there. I am not scared of you death. For a while yet, I have some life left. And whilst I have breath still for living, my life, death, I will not yet be giving. To meet death, I shall not fear. For angels will greet me when near. So I'll march on to my happy sunset, because life hasn't quite beaten me yet. Sincerely  Shane M. O'Sullivan © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

FIELDS OF GOLD

Image
Fading fast. I knew it wouldn't last. Soon they will put me in a casket. A few more memories is the best I could ask for, when God told me, I would have to pass to rest in fields in the clouds of golden everlasting. The sun is burning in the sky, flaming warm for that day to die. And even as a storm in my heart resides, and a winter gale warns with cries, calling me, I don't know why. And I do not want to pass this life by! But I cannot hide, that calling inside, whispered by the Almighty, telling me, over fields of gold I will fly. When you know, you know! When it's your time to go, you go! You run, when young, then one day you slow, as time rushes by like a torrents flushing flow. Until the day, you are again sown, back to fields a-golden glow. A tribute to the sky and pillowed clouds. And beautiful flowers will grow about you, upon that hill of a buried hero! And as the breeze is gently sighing, and the trees are gently crying. No matter how much I'm trying at surviv...

CHELMSFORD JAIL BLUES 1992

Image
There were chancers, romancers, grifters, and lifters, down in the hole, to where I had drifted. Where musclers, and hustlers, and dreamers, and schemers, were all in that ground, down deep in death's ditches. The insane and the lame, were all down in that drain, where the dead, and the dying, all together were lain. The famed and the maimed, the unnamed, and the framed, all down in death's ditches, where many were slain. In the jail, where mail, was slow like the snail, who became the best friend in the place that I gained. In that hole where I fell, called Chelmsford Jail, where the vain, and the plain, all together were chained. In that hell in the ground, where together was found, the lost and the great, all together there caged. Down in death's ditches, there together was lifted, the fallen and brave, all to be glory claimed. © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

YE JEWELLED SOUL

Image
Whilst you walk, ye mortal beast, spend a thought for those deceased, for they have suffered as mortals do, as one day you will to! Whilst you run, you threatened kind, do not waste this given time, put foot to step in having fun, for sure, your end will come. So I say to you, ye jewelled soul, do not be glum, but bright and bold. Do not be grey, but coloured vast, a grand display, until your last. And as you pray to Him above, To hope to feel, His Holy love, Then know, a mortal creatures plight, Is gifted by immortal light. And when, for you, the end is near, I say this truth, lest that ye fear, Do not fight lifes given breath, For a new life begins in death. And onward heaven marching souls, For our delight are given goals, For our deep needs, and hopes of love, Bring earthward light, from God above. © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

I CALL TO CHRIST

Image
I call to Christ, O Lord of Hosts, I call inside, Thine Holy Ghost, I praise aloud, the skies I sing, My God Sublime, my only King. My psalm in verseing, His love so dear, My calm in nursing, my cave of fears! No harm in cursing, lifes hills to climb, As winds do worsten, faiths call shall bind. My anthem grows, as lust retreats, Desires slow, those gusts to beat, Those heart filled rages, set on repeat, upon the pages, of loves slope steep! By no division, Thy mystery shown, By Three in One, Thy blessing sown, Thy Glory blazed, by One in Three, Thou doth amaze, O Trinity. Thy angels pure, whom Thee anointed, Thy saints so sure, whom Thee appointed, That price to seek, in needy hour, In Christ the Meek, faiths seed of power. He shaped each mountain, He carved each valley, He dug the rivers, He poured each sea, He painted all of, Earth's precious art, So none but Thee Lord, has my heart. © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

MOONLIGHT CASANOVA

Image
I cannot help, but build myself a cage, to hide within. As all around, stars fall down, their lights eternal, dim. I cannot help, but hear the wind, verse their passing by. An orchestra of wings, sings, their angelic lullaby. I too know, I'll fly one day, I'll capture that same breeze. Those chapters in the leaves, that sway, in the wind between the trees. And in my darkest hour of night, I'll hear when Christ is calling. To show that beauty, sparkled bright, of stars when they are falling. And moonlight serenading plays, when I'm feeling blue. To show the beauty of the greys, when by grace, they're painted new. And when the darkness comes to prey, morn springs a fresh new sun. A fresh new day, dawns gold displays, to show that light has won! © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

WINDSONG

Image
I heard the whisper of a fountain, the water sung a song of love. I heard the thunder on a mountain, narrate of tempests swirl above. I saw a storm approaching fast, the gales voice, the bluster near. I knew the dark would never last, for clustered clouds above, soon clear. I saw the wind in ballet dance, an opera played upon the trees. She rustled leaves in sweet romance, as woodwinds played upon the breeze. I heard the waves, the waters, heaving, the crashing song, the trying sea. Of Gaia's slaved and sighing breathing, of oceans crying to be free. I heard the darkness of the night, the wailing sound of hopes deep yearning. The song of angels wings in flight, which beckon forth the lights returning. I heard the bright new dawning singing, the chorus bird, the yawning sun. Recite of mornings fresh beginning, the fight, a brand new day has won! I saw the flowers, blooming, growing, the scent of Summer looming, flowing. I saw the bees, collecting, sowing, their nectar hues, all gold...

A WARRIOR SONG

Image
I carried your burden, your guilt and your shame, but God knows the truth, and you know the same! For Silence watched you, on that fateful day, my Father saw too, that you was to blame! And angels wings held me, and lifted me high, from the damage you dealt me, and the tears that I cried! And a new peace which found me, sung a warrior song, of white wings around me, glowing boldly and strong! So I'm giving it back now, all the guilt and the shame. It's not mine to carry, for I had no blame! It's your name that's marked, by the darkness you hold. For a moments quick pleasure, to satan, now sold! It's you that is fallen, in that old sodden soil, to be trodden and toiled, in the mud where you crawl! For hell claims its earnings, and eternally burns. While I'm wrapped in white wings, you're wrapped up in worms! © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

FOREVER RAIN

Image
It's raining here, it's raining there, there's rain all over everywhere, so come into my new despair, come and feel the rain. There's thunder here, there's thunder there, it crashed all over everywhere, so come into my new least care, come and hear the pain. Come look upon the fallen bard, inside a head where living's hard, come hear the chorus time shall sing, goodwill all men, the bells do ring. Come look upon a king of old, come listen to the stories told, as soldiers march to battle song, forever cold, it rained too long. There's lightning here, there's lightning there, it flashed all over, everywhere, come and see the light appear, come see the dying brave. It's rolling here, it's rolling there, the storming sea rolls everywhere, come and see a running tear, fall and join the wave. Come look upon the fallen bard, inside a head where living's hard, come hear the chorus time shall sing, goodwill all men, the bells do ring. Come look upon a...

THE WAVES

Image
The waves, the waves, the crashing waves, which froth and foam, and smash my bones, on the deepest darkest ocean. The breeze, the breeze, the blowing breeze, which curls the sails upon the seas, which lures the sailors siren tease, on the deepest darkest ocean. The swell, the swell, the buckets, now, to calm the hurling belly hell, which hates the smash of sands and shells, on the deepest darkest ocean. The sun, the sun,  the gold above, up in the swirling sky of love, where dreams, and hopes, and sea-birds fly, on the deepest darkest ocean. The death, the death, where time takes breath, for salt, and sea, has had its best, and oceans spray, and caskets lay, on the deepest darkest ocean. The drums, the drums, the doldrums play, the albatross avoids the spray, the maddening sailors, sing drunk, and sway, on the deepest darkest ocean. The dead, the dead, to sea-worms fed, whom lay on Davy Crockets bed, will sleep beyond the waves, their rest, on the deepest darkest ocean. © 2024 Shoe...

THE BATTLE OF THE LIGHT

Image
Life is a war, to win the fading of the light, before its greatest battlefield, death, has won the fight. And when the battle cries do roar with all their dying might. Know then that sunshine is no more, as the day succumbs to night. Life is a precious gift, to win that heart Divine. Before it slips, to death, and drifts, at the fading of the light. And when the warming sun is sold, to winters cold, and lost. Know then, a summer's morn of gold, will again melt the morning frost. Life is divine uplifting, to taste the love sublime. High, on wings of doves, a-drifting, on clouds which pass on by. Not for their moment grey, but for that in which they're lined. The silvered thread, up in the sky, to heaven tightly tied. Life is a blessing, for us to be our best. To know, on Earth, we are addressing, our greatest spirit quest. And until the rising of our star, we'll see weathers warm and cold. But when we fade away, off far, we'll bloom young again from old. © 2024 Shoestrin...

MY VENUS

Image
Dear beauty, pure, Divine. My Queen of sweet desire. Aglow art Thee, ablaze, Thy might, Thy rays, by angels fired. So fine, Thee diamond star, sublime, The brightest one could see. Amazed, I'm dazed, by all Thy ways, In love, I'm sworn to Thee. Thoughts drift, on clouds, before me. a storm, in dream, erupts. All I see, a wall of sea, a swell, my passion in flood. My boat, my light, my rudder, my sail, my wind, my star. My guide, my sun, eternal, my lover, my Venus, forever Thou art. © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

INSIGNIFICANCE

Image
1. When I'm really tired of existence, I could string a line up upon something with solid consistence, and make myself a monument, to that inner voice of persistence!   But for today, I'll just hang on to my resistance, and rest another day in my own insignificance! 2. When I'm so very tired of my given breath, and feel it wasted, and have no intention left to save my life from choosing death. I could find a bridge, and high up on a ledge, raise my wings, and choose to fly instead! But for today, I'll only let words fly from my head, to show another way, to lay only my insignificance to bed! 3. When I'm so weary of this Earth, and find myself of no more worth to society, which seems so wild and feral to me. I could place myself in deepest peril, and rest there upon angels wings awhile! But for today, I shall smile, even as I cry, and rest upon God's lap, and lay my teary head awhile, as an ocean falls from my eye! 4. When I'm knocking upon heavens door, and ...

AMONGST THE TREES

Image
Whilst I sat amongst the trees, to rest my weary soul a second. I saw a flutter on the breeze, and from a branch, an angel beckoned. I was utterly amazed, to rest my tiring soul a mile, above the glory bright ablaze, between the stars, a slow soft while. Amongst the trees, within the breeze, where angels gladly sing, of wings and leaves, and fluttering things, which whistle in the wind. Between the leaves, I rest again, for forever and an hour, amongst the winters sleet and rain, within a cold fresh shower. As I sat between the leaves a while, those fallen down, decayed, I found within that cold, my smile, sat beside the stars displayed. Amongst the trees, within the breeze, where angels gladly sing, of wings and leaves, and fluttering things, which whistle in the wind. And in forever's night, I saw the dark fade fast, and dawn, approaching bright, a brand new day, at last. And I no more, by dark was swayed, in new morn light, I swanned, upon the bright new warming rays, where gold...

BECAUSE I'VE SEEN THE LIGHT!

Image
I just want to drink myself to death, And feel the fading of my dying breath, But I can't, instead I'll choose what's right, And I cannot hide, because I've seen the light! I can't remember much of yesterday, As my memories have all fallen away, And faded in the dark of blackest night, But I can't deny, that I've seen the light! I don't hold much hope right now, It's mostly gone in wine stains, where it fell, And I feel like I'm losing in my fight, But I can't fade away, because I've seen the light! I just want to touch the golden sky, Atop a bridge, and fall, from where I'll fly, But I can't fail, in this, my daily flight, And cannot die, because I've seen the light! I just want to go to eternity and sleep, And stay within that darkness, way down deep, But I cannot go against the gracious might, Of God Divine, because I've seen the light! I would like to just hide and fade away, And go to sleep, forever, and a day, But I ...

WHO WILL WATER ME IN MY DYING FLIGHT!?

Image
Who will nurse me in my final weeks, and see the way in which my light leaks, and escapes the earth, and to heaven flows, who will watch and see which way my ghost goes!? Who will nurse me in my final days, and see my light in its dance to grace, and love me as the flowers love the spring, and the rains above the heavens, petal watering!? Who will nurse me in my final hour, and love me like a fading meadow flower, decaying in autumns laze of light? Who will water me in my haze of dying flight!? Who will love me in my dying days, and stay by my side, until I decide to fly away, way up high in that starry sky, where angels twinkle bright on display? Who will hold me tightly while I die, and let me rest in their hands until I fly, way up high with those silver littered lights, when I become the glitter in the sky at night!? Who will water me in my dying flight, and watch my light fly off, up high, up into the darkest space, way off, far, as I rest a while up there as a star!? © 2024 Shoes...

THE SLAYING OF THE DARK

Image
1. In a dark, dank depression, deep in the hollows of hell’s hole, hidden from humankind, stirs a spiteful and stubborn soul. 2. A strain of spirit seeded from the angelic heavenly plane, stolen away to self-love, enslaved by self serving gain. 3. And thus, thrust in the caste of just rebuff, the cost for a once must have lust, rebuked to rust, to rest in dust, for eternity lost, the must. 4. Gone in curse, passed, by hates hope, reimbursed. No worse a fate to contemplate, as that when wooed by lust from heavens gate! 5. To wait eternal, to rest in fire, adorned with purse of maliced mire. Infernal blessed, O he, dressed internal by prides attire. 6. From snoring acrid fumes of smoke, in a boom, its sleep broke, and from its tomb, it woke. And now it grooms the warring plumes of soaking gloom and doom, which loom bespoke for every human folk. 7. And there, exhumed from hell’s own womb, a voice pained grey, it Spoke, to say, "in darks rejoice, I'm here to slay the kingdom built...

I THREW AWAY YOUR LOVE

Image
I threw your love away, I didnt deserve it anyway, I couldn't be the man you wanted me to be, another day soon I will be just a memory. I threw your love away, I never deserved it anyway, I could never give you all the things you need, some other man will soon take my place you'll see. I threw your love away, I didnt need it anyway, you were only mine in some fantasy place, so I threw your love away, I threw it all to waste. I threw your love away, I couldn't be who you wanted anyway, the man you need I could never be, so I threw your love away and set it free. I threw away your love, from up above, thrown to the ether lost, a memory of what was, now painted grey, I threw away your love, I threw it all away. I threw your love away, you didn't need it anyway, you didn't care if you were the one for me, so I threw away the hope that you could ever be. I threw your love to a stormy tide, I didn't want your memory inside, so I tore it out of me, and tossed it far aw...

HUNG UPON A STRING

Image
I. Hung upon a string held tight, to dance aloft, in satellite, strung to swing, from east to west, enhancing night-times peace and rest. Exalt thyself, O shimmery moon, dance awhile, for dawn comes soon, come paint upon this canvas new, before the blackened spread turns blue. II. Swung upon a silvered thread, a line direct to Heaven led, those littered spectacles of Fortuna, alongside glittered Mother Luna. Exalt thyself, ye sparks of light, adorned in speckled angel white, come fill the canvas of the night, displacing dark with magic flight. III. A song is strummed when natures shown, a psalm is hummed when seeds are sown, dreams are sung by tides in turning, hopes are won by wisdom's earning! Exalt thyself, O glittered treasure, ye angels whom do weigh my measure, know coming vagabonds, as kings, shall too hear them angels wings! © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

WHEN DEATH IS MY GREATEST DEAR FRIEND

Image
When finality is a good proposition, to take me away from my old pained condition, to numb up my mind, and my deep held conviction, that death is my greatest dear friend. When death in a ditch is a wishful conclusion, from lifes long lost hopes, and pains strong confusion, and all that I've left is time that I'm losing, then death is my greatest dear friend. When all of my thoughts are lost in repression, and I'm apathetic at societies aggression, and all that I hold to, is loss and confession, then death is my greatest dear friend. When I'm done waiting for Godly persuasion, for the light at the edge of my minds deep contagion, and all of my wants are lost in translation, then death is my greatest dear friend. When I'm done contemplating, and thinking and waiting, and all of my needs are broken and taken, and all of my hopes are fallen, and making me think, death is my greatest dear friend. When I'm in depression and darkness surrounds, and clouds of oppression...

THE SMOKE GOT IN MY EYES

Image
I'm not telling any lies, the smoke got in my eyes. And there is no disguise, that the smoke got in my eyes. And it is no surprise, that the smoke was in my eyes. But I have to wonder why, why the smoke got in my eyes! When I was down and out and all about me sang, of the stains of poverty and the stink in which they swam. When I was fading fast and all my colours ran to grey, when my days just wouldn't last and to night they ran away. When I was slipping down into my own deep dark hell. And to all new fads and things around, I grabbed, but also fell. When all my loves had gone, and my hopes were shattered dreams. I stood upright to stay strong so I could write of my struggling themes. So I'm not telling any lies, the smoke got in my eyes. And there is no disguise, that the smoke got in my eyes. And it is no surprise, that the smoke was in my eyes. But I still wonder why, why the smoke got in my eyes! When my only satisfaction is to see the time pass by, and hope my only in...

I LOOK FORWARD TO MY ETERNAL SLEEP

Image
I look forward to my eternal sleep, where I can finally find the rest I need, to put to silence, that voice down deep, loud inside my quiet mind. I look forward to my eternal peace, which existence stole away from me, and left only dark confusion behind, so I look forward to a quiet mind. I look forward to eternal peace, to steal away that loud release, for inside, my mind, those grey clouds storming, will not find me, in my golden dawning. I look forward to my eternal sleep, where cold's despair, cannot reach me, and only warm sunny skies shall find me, I look forward to dark days behind me. I look forward to my eternal flight, where I can rest for a while, and see from on high, that my life was worth all the pain and the fight, and that my words survive, when I die. I look forward to when those days greet me, when I sleep upon clouds, and skies do meet me, when eternity seeks me, and white wings surround me, I look forward to those bright things around me. I look forward to my et...

GOLDEN WINGS UPON BROKEN THINGS

Image
Like an angel, she, sailing upon God's breath, blown my way by serendipity, when little hope was left, that I would ever see, such a vision blessed, until she came to me, to give my heart hopes rest. O Sweet Mother Mary. Like a goddess true, sent from heavens crest, glittered in a golden hue, on divinities hand at rest. She, a precious queen, so I'll hold her near to me, like forever she's a dream, the most glorious I could ever see. O My Sweet Mother Mary. She was an angel sent to me, upon the wings of a golden being sent, from higher up than I could ever be, she was for me forever meant. Destiny was her name, she was the only one for me, healing hopelessness was her endless aim, so I rested on her bed for an eternity. O Sweet, Sweet Mother Mary. Like a summers gentle breeze, she is to me so ever pleasing. Like heavens flowers gentle release of their eternal scent, forever teasing. Of glory songs in heaven playing, of the light turning golden once again from greying. When ...

ONCE FORGOTTEN

Image
I shall no longer hear that voice endearing, nor gaze within those diamond eyes soul deep. Not once again to that golden heart be nearing, nor ever more that sweet soft touch to greet! I shall no longer hear such precious laughter, nor once more be gifted by that treasured throne. Never again lifted by that sweet happy ever after, nor ever more to that sweetness call my home! I shall no longer see that smile of grace, nor ever more that light of peace once strong. Never again to sight upon that longed for face, nor ever more to that beloved soul belong! I shall no longer feel that heart in bonding, nor ever more be found by it once forgotten. Never again bound by it since love's absconding, nor ever more to her besotten! © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

THE LIGHT BEYOND THE CLOUD

Image
There is a light beyond the cloud, a light I seek to see. I know that light beyond the cloud, beckons forth for me. And so I shall forever now, look beyond the cloud to see, that somewhere there beyond the cloud, in brightness I shall be. There is a light beyond the cloud, that doubt which follows me. I know that light beyond the cloud, wants to set me free. And so now, I forever shall, wait for it to leave. And know that from that big dark cloud, I shall one day see. There is a light beyond that cloud, the cloud which shadows me. So I seek that light beyond the cloud, which tries to set me free. And I'll wait until forever now, for that light, upon release. For I know I 'll  go beyond that cloud, bright, in golden peace. © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

AFLOW IN MILK AND HONEY DRESSING

Image
The gracious sway, the ever pull, by natures play, caressed to full. The motioned clouds, by partnered winds, with grace aloud, from heaven sings. On wings of joy, from skyward glanced, to earth deployed, for creations dance. The lands to fill, for souls resplendence, by God's own will, for Earth's descendants. And beauty, in all which from heaven flows, is by natures duty, to all bestowed. Thus clouds in breeze, as sunlight rays, are, as plants and trees, by grace displayed. And full divine, for all our meeting, is a holy shrine, by natures greeting. In a beating chest, where love holds ground, is a treating to be blessed, by nature bound. And so, to give, her stage, she takes, so that we may live an age, she makes. And her ways, in grace, by God's creation, are for us to taste, for revelation. So when you look for worth above, know you're gifted on earth, by love. And if from plights a liftings saught, know your gift in flight by God is wrought. And nurtured in the ar...

WHEN THE LIGHT ESCAPES

Image
When one day the light escapes this prison, which the body makes, the boundless soul, evacuates, and Heaven found, repatriates. When one day the light does fade, and slides again, from whence 'twas made, from pastures greyed, to golden glades, let fluttered wings on clouds parade! When one day the light retreats its mortal play of life repeats. Let shine 'pon clouds, as saints do beat praiseful drums, and stamp their feet! When thunders barking fades to nil, and silence has that raging still, when skies, by angels wings, are filled, know dark, by light, has lost its kill. When the hearts applaudings cease, and death has quiet, loud in peace, to fall deceased, like autumn leaves, from toiled seeds, is God's release. When to slow, the time becomes, to wither cold, from days of sun, to pass from old, to days of none, know then, this battle, I have won! When the hands of time no more beckon, but from beyond the door of reckoning, do call, I'll lay with God, forever, there I...

SHE'LL NEVER KNOW

Image
She'll never know the measure of my love. That once treasure of a tower, now smashed to dust. That once gifted prize, once handled with care. Now ruined it lies, left to rust, in despair. (And even as the sky dances with wings above, - as nestward glances fill the air. She'll never realise this love! Like the birds in the sky,  She will never see that they are there!) . . . She'll never remember that she was the token of my heart. Which once gladdened my days, but has now departed. Which once was the sunshine for my everyday breezes. Now cast away, trodden, left broken in pieces. (And even as the moon graces the sky, - as a million diamonds fill the air. This love, she will never realise! Like the stars above,  She will never see that they are there!) . . . She'll never know my heart depths in love, were so very deep. I would have climbed any frost bitten mountain's snow peak. I would have swam any shark ridden sea without fear in me. If the goal had been just to ha...

THE TOLLING OF THE DEATH BELLS

Image
Too many fallen, needless slain, too many to their death bed lain, too many heroes lost in vain, died for greed and a needless aim. Too many slaved for Empire, too many graves in the quagmire, of wars ways, on battlefields pyre, torn from the guns and bombs red fire. And as the death bell rings, the saints roll in their graves, the Banshee to the moonlight sings, for all those fallen brave. And as the clouds all part, and angels throng above, to calm those warring, bleeding hearts, and sing their song of love. Too many to the barrel lost, to many to that quarrel tossed, to many to the serpent cast, die in legions cauldron blast. Too many by the cannons crushed, smashed and blown apart to dust, too many to the bombs, dead fast, scattered to the wind for lust. And as the death bell tolls, another hero falls, that peace of deaths release sure lulls from raging fields it calls. And so on angels wings, to calm those storms within, to warm deaths frozen heart, they sing, of the eternal love ...

THE BARRELS

Image
War, war, when will embittered men no more spray ruin from a steel bore? When the bodies of the poor, for riches gain do paint the floor, it's war, war, war! Run, run, here come the mortars and the bombs, the tanks, the cannons, rolling on, for someone else's foreign Don, who cannot even speak your tongue, so run, run, run. Flee, flee, the canisters are flung your way, the wings of wind will bring today, death on clouds, the gas will spray, as marching bands do drum and play, so flee, flee, flee away! Peace, peace, the barrels cease, when the anger's all released, when the guilt is all appeased, when the guns by blood are greased, the dead can have their peace! Sleep, sleep, when the blame has all been freed, in mercies name, for gloried greed, for foreign gain, our hands shall bleed, and enter in that death down deep, to sleep, sleep, sleep! Rest, rest, let God avenge your hero's death, and place a medal on your chest, for bravery, for valours quest, to keep you in you...

TO FLY WITH VENUS

Image
She is all beauty epitomized. She is all radiance to my eyes. To my heart, all grace's peace. To my soul, all delights release. She is as every starlight display. As every summers day. As every moons temptation. As every hopes elation. She is a fired gem, from creations furnace. A first dawn spark, from Heaven furnished. A goddess true, by love's enticing, My muse, my queen, my Venus rising. In her, my Aphrodite woke. That curse of never love she spoke. In beauty born for adoration, I'm sworn for all of times duration. As a siren, femme fatale in calling, I hear her vixen wail, I'm falling deep within her pleading spell, Allured, in love, I need her now!   Hypnotic ways, her spark divine, Emblazes all around she shines! I'm charmed by her charisma, smitten, By vampiric lips, I'm bitten! Entranced, I dream, my mind aswim, Upon her beauty theme, I sing! By fancy flights, I'm hooked and captured, By chance delights, so fully raptured! And when my lullaby is cea...

WHERE THE LIGHT SHINES THROUGH

Go on through and not around, even where the blues are found, and also where the grey is too, as that is where the light shines through. Go on through and don't duck down, to where the dust falls to the ground, instead jump up when going to, the place to where the light shines true. Go on through don't hang around, go to where the dark is bound, for when the night sky black turns blue, is when the light will shine anew. Go on through the darkest sound, even when the fear is loud, for it's darkest when the dawn is due, before the morn brings days bright hue. Go on through don't walk around, go to where the dark is found, and even when the night finds you, it's brightest where the light shines through. Go on though that deep dark ground, go to where the shadows bound, for when shadows are long, its true, that's when the light is rising new! © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

DOWN WITH THE WORMS

Image
When I go down within the ground, and death has found and won me. And all around me, worms surround, and wriggle all upon me. And all my bones, are left to dust, when I go down with death deep. And on the journey there, I must, prepare for my eternity, And when my breath is lost and slow, and I go down to deaths sleep. To rest eternally below, when worms within me creep. When I leap from this mortal coil, and the skies no longer sun me. Down deep within that darkened soil, when the sludge becomes me. When I go down into the mud, down deep within the cold breath, of decaying's slime and slugs, and that deep deep dark called death. When I go down, deep down below, when angels dance around me, where ravens fly the heavens wide, I'll know that God has found me. © 2024 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

What a ride I had, by lifes commitment, as many moons awoke my resistance from that cunnings creatures downward slide, into deaths dark canyon, deep and wide! And so what a ride I had, astride that melancholies back! And what a journey it was I had, what a ride, upon that melancholies back! What a ride had I, so that I sat lost and pained a while, upon that, melancholic ride, where a stormy cloud I cried, a lifetimes rain within my eye, poured out the seas within a night. And what a ride had I, so that, even flight found wings to fly. What a test I had, upon my ride, on melancholies back, that wild thing, seeking my destruction, dark's buried dee...
