INSIGNIFICANCE

1. When I'm really tired of existence,
I could string a line up upon
something with solid consistence,
and make myself a monument,
to that inner voice of persistence!
 
But for today,
I'll just hang on to my resistance,
and rest another day
in my own insignificance!

2. When I'm so very tired of my given breath,
and feel it wasted, and have no intention left
to save my life from choosing death.
I could find a bridge, and high up on a ledge,
raise my wings, and choose to fly instead!

But for today,
I'll only let words fly from my head,
to show another way,
to lay only my insignificance to bed!

3. When I'm so weary of this Earth,
and find myself of no more worth
to society, which seems so wild and feral to me.
I could place myself in deepest peril,
and rest there upon angels wings awhile!

But for today,
I shall smile, even as I cry,
and rest upon God's lap, and lay
my teary head awhile, as an ocean falls from my eye!

4. When I'm knocking upon heavens door,
and Earth no longer holds me here,
I shall not fear, for I have knocked before,
and God did not yet want me there.
So next time, I'll make sure He wants me near!

But for today
I'll wait around a while more,
as I paint a picture of my insignificance for
you, and all generations forevermore.

FOREVER'S PSALM

I gazed a moment, yonder far, amazed in wonder, upon a star, a light so bright, the skies ablazed, a sight for all prized eyes to praise. I looked about, and there, in glory, the clouds in chorus, sung their story, "How great the light that's raised above, that might eternal, praised by love." Then way off side, I caught in glancing, that nightly ride of dream enchanting, the moon at dance, with grace, entranced, the skies display, by love enhanced. Upon her surface, divine that glow, displayed for every soul to know, from love's creation, her beauty song, for every eye to ponder on. And as I turned to walk away, an angel crossed my path to say, "The chorus of forever's psalm, for God, I lay upon your palm." And in that moments gaze, was lifted, every doubt of what God gifted me, and suddenly I sung, a brand new song had just begun. And time again became my musing, on this new path which God was choosing, and with times ticking, silence came, to issue me...

WHEN I TRIED TO FIGHT THE SKY

I can't fly, as much as I may try, to spread my wings wide, and fly, I can't fly! Whilst I may try, to spread my wings and fly, I'll soon find out why, I can't fly! When I fall from the sky, in my attempts to try, to fly, like a bird, high, I'll know, I can't fly! I'll soon find out why, when I fall from the sky, why I cannot fly, even though I still may try! But one day I will fly, way up in that sky, even though I will not try, my Lord will call me high.
