A LETTER TO DEATH
To Death,
I am not scared of you death.
I will fight you 'till my dying breath.
I will beat you for a while yet.
And will gladly greet you at my happy sunset.
I do not fear you death.
For even when I have so very little life left.
I will still not greet you for a while yet.
And will not sadly meet you at my happy sunset.
I am not scared for the end.
And fear not that final tide, of resting where,
you death, become my final friend.
I will again greet you happy ever after there.
I am not scared of you death.
For a while yet, I have some life left.
And whilst I have breath still for living,
my life, death, I will not yet be giving.
To meet death, I shall not fear.
For angels will greet me when near.
So I'll march on to my happy sunset,
because life hasn't quite beaten me yet.
Sincerely
Shane M. O'Sullivan
