MELANCHOLY NO. 33

What a ride it was I had
astride melancholies back.
For a while, amidst, the greys insistence,
tossed too and fro, in slaved persistence,
as many suns passed me by,
wayward lost into the fry!

What a ride I had, by lifes commitment,
as many moons awoke my resistance
from that cunnings creatures downward slide,
into deaths dark canyon, deep and wide!
And so what a ride I had,
astride that melancholies back!

What a journey had I upon that
creature, which grew grotesque and fat,
from feeding upon my deep depression,
when I rode saddened, abreast confusion.
And what a journey it was I had,
what a ride, upon that melancholies back!

What a ride had I, so that
I sat lost and pained a while,
upon that, melancholic ride,
where a stormy cloud I cried,
a lifetimes rain within my eye,
poured out the seas within a night.
And what a ride had I, so that,
even flight found wings to fly.

What a test I had,
upon my ride, on melancholies back,
that wild thing, seeking my destruction,
dark's buried deep within seduction.
Where death rest its weary bones,
and sleep calls life forever home.

what a quest I had which took me
deep deep down to dark's infinity,
but there within the void which stole me,
I saw a Spirit, whom did hold me.
the secret of the light, He told me,
and so, for Him, His love has sold me.

And now that melancholic beast,
is dead, and died from deaths disease,
and a new lease of life, I've signed,
to live forever, with God inside,
and with no melancholic ride in sight,
I'm left to bask within the light!
