DO NOT CRY WHEN I HAVE GONE

Do not cry when I have gone,
when the death bell is rung,
and rings my song,
for within my lines, a monument lives on,
so I'll not die,
but will live forever long,
every time my monument is sung.

So do not cry when I am done,
when I have run, to some far off land,
taken by fates hand, when death has won,
for I'll live on,
in the monument of a song,
and will become,
eternal, like the presence of the sun.

So do not cry when I fly on,
when I decide my day has come,
and cannot wait around for another one,
when I am weak, and no longer strong,
and my sunset has come and gone,
when wings raise me to where stars belong,
do not cry when I have gone.

So do not cry,
when I
rest in my
eternal bed,
for I'll not be dead,
but will survive instead,
every time my rhymes are read!
