STAND UP, MY SON,

Image
Walk tall, I say, my fallen son, get up again, stand up and run, and when again, you come to fall, stand up again, my son, walk tall. Stand up, be proud, but not in vain, for when you slip, stand up again, and use the pain, from falling down, to lift you back up from the ground. Jump up and fly, my chosen one, stand up high, and touch the sun, for stars above, await your light, so jump up high, and touch the sky. Be wise, my son, alight your soul, be wise, and hear my spirit call, ignite the fire, whose bright flames roar, alight your soul forever more. Stand up, my son, stand up, walk tall, and even when you slip and fall, stand up the same, stand high, aloft, to start again, where you left off. © 2025 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

SHARDS OF JEWELLED DREAMS

Image
It's gone again, it's gone to dust, That glory might, left weak, to rust. It's gone again, from light to grey, Once raiment bright, now bleak in waste. It's gone again, lain somewhere lost, That thing once prized, now sideways tossed. It's gone again, assumed to last, Once great and true, now cursed to pass. It's gone again, that thing once blessed, It's waned, it's left, it's laid to rest. It's gone again, that font of hope, Once glowed, ashine, now gone, eloped! It's gone again, it faded fast, That hope eternal, which proved just past. It's gone again, diminished, complete, Now shards of jewelled dreams beneath my feet. © 2025 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

DO NOT CRY WHEN I HAVE GONE

Image
Do not cry when I have gone, when the death bell is rung, and rings my song, for within my lines, a monument lives on, so I'll not die, but will live forever long, every time my monument is sung. So do not cry when I am done, when I have run, to some far off land, taken by fates hand, when death has won, for I'll live on, in the monument of a song, and will become, eternal, like the presence of the sun. So do not cry when I fly on, when I decide my day has come, and cannot wait around for another one, when I am weak, and no longer strong, and my sunset has come and gone, when wings raise me to where stars belong, do not cry when I have gone. So do not cry, when I rest in my eternal bed, for I'll not be dead, but will survive instead, every time my rhymes are read! © 2025 Shoestring Shane www.ShoestringShane.com

HEAVEN'S GATE

Image
what great wonder, what tragedy, God's thunder struck in Calvary, the temple curtain, divine concealed, in no uncertain terms revealed. the baying crowd, for blood did lust, and flayed that shroud, redemption's must, and fated heavens wings to seal, the sins of flesh, by faith's repeal. by hate, whose reins held tight by man, bound in chains, stripped, whipped, and hanged, a yoke to choke, astride a tree, the criminals numbered more than three! and from that lucifer addiction, came blood lust, wrapped in crucifixion, but faith from joy, gave hopes election, and saved us all by resurrection. the love of humankind, by purple gowned, his mercies blind, by hatred crowned, the King Of Jews, in mocking toy, to bring to man, redemption's ploy. from human loathing, and hatreds gain, the love of loves by man was slain, the tree of life, in heaven planted, by love, has now on earth been granted, by grace of faith, by truth now shone, our place, to heaven bound, we long, by mankin...
